ok, im a young fella living in bangkok, i do enjoy partying but am getting bored of my common areas, does anyone know any good "party" areas,
im looking for a disco, (middle of bangkok or middle of nowhere), just a good vibe, and prefably less farang than KS and sukhmvit.
i hate KS rd, (and REALLY hate go-go bars)
i often go to RCA, Rachada soi 4 and 6
i dont know many places apart from those above
SO i would love to know some good non GOGO disco's, any help would be much appriciated! cheers kezza,
Don't bother with the Thai areas. You'll look at the wrong girl one day and Somchai (with ten of his mates as backup natch) will break a bottle over your head.

There are plenty of godawful discos with godawful music and groups of girls and boys standing up around their tables and half-heartedly "dancing", it's kind of weird.
BTW, what are your "common areas"? Mine are my nipples.

discos... why do they have to play the music so damn loud i prefer to loiter with intent outside, if i see a decent enough looking bird, i wink... and rustle a 1,000 baht note at her. it usually works!
Looks smaller (never been inside RCA) but a nice cruisey atmosphere, nice lay out and great service. Pretty much farang free, patrons mostly age 20-25 are very friendly. Lost count of how many drinks they bought me but pity the neighbours driveway I chundered the second the cabbie stopped

You're such a chickenshit motherfucker Ethel. I can just see you quivering behind your Heiniken down Sukumvit swapping bullshit stories with other farangs who can't face up to the fact that here's not like home.
As for discos, if you want a more Thai feel go out into the main roads on the outer sectiosn of Bangkok like Rangsit, or over the river into Thonburi. Plenty of discos - just head for the neon lights - some are discos, some are sing-a-song places. Have a walk around, or get in a taxi and ask them to take you to the nearest one.

You're such a chickenshit fruitist Ethel..
You're very quick with the personal insults, aren't you, bubba?
Another tough guy in front of a keyboard?
Don't be a complete tosspot.
Remember the poster who this exact thing happened to down south?
Grasshopper, i think.
BTW, no I don't wish LOS was like home. I am though, completely unimpressed by Thai men and the majority of them, in my honest opinion, are complete tossers.
You obviously would get on alright with them though!

Now here's a man who really knows the club scene.
I live in Rangsit.
We have Future Park. Closes at 9.00 pm
There are a few karaoke bars (no Farang songs though) with lovely neon lights. They are all closed by 10.30 pm.
My local karaoke bar used to close at 10.00 pm. It was a straw hut with dogs roaming around inside. Some prick set light to it on New Year's Eve and now we don't even have that.
I got all excited when I read that restaurants would have to stop serving alcohol at midnight - I thought it meant my local one would have to stay open an extra three hours.
This is the 'burbs. Most people here work in Bangkok and have a two- hour drive to work. They have to be asleep by 11.00 pm in order to get to work the next day.
If I want a late night out I head for Sukhumvit. At 51 yrs I'm quite happy with that arrangement and am grateful for the normality that Rangsit represents.
