A few things to know

Ajarn Forum is an independent discussion space for teaching and living in Thailand. The conversations here start afresh. We have not brought over the earlier forum’s posts or accounts, and this site does not speak for its former members or operators.

Drop in without an account

You can read and post without a profile, registration or email address. The boards are public. For a side conversation, choose a shared phrase and give it to the people joining you. These conversations have no public directory. Anyone holding the exact phrase can read the history and write messages; it does not verify who they are. Choose something reasonably private and be considerate of one another.

What we keep

Every accepted post and side-conversation message is saved in full. The site operator can also view detailed request logs: timestamps, pages and actions, browser information, IP addresses, connection metadata, response statuses, database timings and errors. Neither the conversation history nor these database logs has an automatic expiry date.

The server keeps a one-way hash of a side-conversation phrase. Your browser holds the phrase only while this page is open; leaving or reloading clears it. Access phrases, authorization headers and cookies are excluded from request logs. Side conversations are stored on the server, apart from public posts, and have no end-to-end encryption. You do not need cookies or an account.

Keep it to words

Write in plain text. There are no attachments, embedded media, images or HTML posts. A shared posting limit applies to each forum or conversation to slow down spam.
