Opening question
Undaunted by the prospect of lunch at near-exorbitant prices, we took our seats and enjoyed a view of the pool (fat, pasty Europeans keeping the barboy busy). SD had the pumpkin tortelloni in saffron cream sauce that he enjoyed and I had a sea bass filet garnished with scallops in a light lemon butter sauce...tasty if not very exciting. The third member of our party had a seafood pizza served without mozzarella (a rarity here). It was at least one step above edible, though the squid rings resisted mastication. A nice red wine (offered at B280 the glass) really pushed up the tab. The bread accompaniment hinted at time in a microwave. The decor was plastic Tuscany, there were no other diners and the staff didn't feel the need for air conditioning. Overall impression: uninspiring meal from an Italian chef who wished us "buon apetito" on his way to the poolside bar. Total for 3: B2200. No repeat visit planned. I noticed Rang Mahal on the 26th floor has a brunch buffet....more on that next weekend.

Rang Mahal hate getting customers in after 10pm as they close at 11. They are very rude to you.

Berty: that may be a mistake.

Dont give it a miss it is brilliant. As a former restaurant owner I can say that not many in the restaurant business want a customer to come in at 10:00 when they close at 11:00. Very often there is a separate sign saying the kitchen closes at 10:00. Everybody wants to go home after a long shift, and think of how late you would be if the kitchen served until 11:00.

[image: http://www.ajarnforum.net/vb/images/smilies/arrowup.gif] Having also worked in the restaurant business .. if you want to close at 10:00, then do it. IMHO you shouldn't be rude to customers for expecting you to deliver what you promise.
