In your opinion which Linux OS is your favourite and why? Also what web browser for the OS is the best?

I use Ubuntu. For me, it is the best. Some of the leading Linux OSs include:
1. Ubuntu
2. Debian
3. Mint
It all depends on what you want to do.
For me, hardware matters the most, so far only OpenSuse works straight out of the box, even better than Win7 drivers for my aging machine.
Another advantage is that their forums are not as flooded with newbies as Ubuntu's and I always get someone to reply within a day or so.
All Wangsuda's choices, btw, are Debian offshots, sitting on the same branch of Linux tree. Debian, to my knowledge, rely strictly on open source software and drivers and that is passed on to Ubuntu, less so with Mint. OpenSuse, by comparison, installs original Nvidia or Ati drivers.
Far more interesting choice, for me, is to go with Gnome or KDE desktops - they really make a difference in user experience even on the same distribution.
As for browsers - Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera - they all work on Linux just fine, and there's also Konqueror which can work both as browser and a file manager, and damn good one.

Well, there is Medibuntu, that distributes "non-free" drivers (in other words, those which are not open source). I have an Acer Aspire computer that has no problems using a Debian-based Linux system.

Debian (and Ubuntu) has a lot of drivers for a lot of hardware but every now and then they miss something or they just don't work as well as drivers from original manufacturers or do not utilize all features.
There are about 40 Aver F1 computers at my school where Ubuntu LiveCD won't even start - no drivers for the on-board video.
Latest Ubuntu won't start on my notebook with Intel 915 video chip even though previous versions had the working drivers. That was a change to the kernel, afaik, so it affected other distros as well.
I prefer KDE with it's "plasma" feel, Gnome might have a bit more apps for it but in its default state it looks too win98 to me.
I've got an annoying Thai version of Windows 7 on my machine. I downloaded the Ubuntu ISO and want to install it but the Thai script comes up when I put in the disc. How can wipe my C drive of everything and then pop in my Ubuntu disc?
Please help. Unlicensed Windows 7 sucks...
1. Put the Ubuntu disk in your CD drive.
2. Turn off the computer WITHOUT removing the Ubuntu CD.
3. Turn on the computer, and let it boot from the CD.
4. Choose the language you desire, and follow the simple instructions provided by the CD.

...again thanks. I'm running ubuntu. Will nurse myself on it for sometime here on my laptop. Will keep my PC on pirated Windows 7 for the time being. Seems to being doing OK but my laptop is nearly five years old. Only use it for TV and surfing.

Ahh, yes, it can't play games.
There's a billion of other things that it CAN do, however, and often better than Windows.
If you are talking about one of the billion of generic users, go ahead and play your games.
There's a lot of satisfaction waiting to be extracted from making Linux work, too. It is addictive.
