Bradley Manning plans to live as woman

This is kind of an interesting twist. tbo, I haven't been following this case that closely. It's fairly clear to me that this individual has lived with a great deal of repression for a long time and that factor, if no other, should perhaps be considered a factor in terms of his sentencing. The military, I would guess, was aware of his challenges long before he spilled the beans, so to speak. Anyways, here it is. Bradley Manning in a wig and lipstick that he emailed to his therapist with a letter titled "My Problem" in which Manning said he hoped a military career would rid him of his gender disorder.

Manning’s defence attorney David Coombs told Today in an interview that he is hoping officials at the military prison in Fort Leavenworth, Kan., will accommodate Manning’s request for hormone therapy. “If Fort Leavenworth does not, then I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure they are forced to do so,” Coombs said. Coombs did not respond to phone and email messages from The Associated Press on Thursday.
